Titus 2:11-12
For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age
Update September 2011
Activities have been plentiful in the ministry the last few months as we see God is continuing to challenge and grow us here in these last days.
The Church CC Roatan: Our Spanish speaking body is growing faster then ever and some services there are only a hand full of English speakers. We sometimes wonder at the Lord for not bringing someone other then us for this work that would do better. We often remind ourselves that we are doing better then the ones who did not come (or has not come yet). We continue to learn a little more Spanish each week but we are still far from fluent and being able to disciple one on one. Praise God for His Holy Spirit that has given our church body a willingness to love us and work for God’s glory with us even with many obstacles. As far as I know we are still alone in teaching expository Bible studies on Roatan. There is a huge need for churches that have emphases on the Word for the other parts of the island, East Side, Flowers Bay, West Bay and Coxen hole.
Our church bus has been fixed and is now picking up people in Flowers Bay and Mud Hole for Sunday service. Most of the people in Flowers Bay even the kids are bilingual so they are a large help on Sundays.
The Food Ministry: We gave out the whole frozen chickens with the food bags this month. Thanks to the work Gabra did in the Cafe' we were able to get 40 chickens. The ladies were asked to try to invite a neighbor family to diner, share their chicken, love on them and then tell us what happen. We were very excited to hear that some of the poorest, hungriest families in the colonia were targeted and blessed; plus many ladies shared their food bags as well. This is ministry we hope to be able to do again and again to show the loving heart of Christ.
Building and Outreaches: Our church body has been very blessed by two visiting teams this August, First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta and Shalom Baptist Church. We were able to build a house, start 2 more apartments, do many home repairs, visitations and VBSs outreaches. Thank you again to all of the team members and their supporters.
Water Projects: All three of our clean water treatment MIOX systems were down last month from years of long use. We were unexpectedly blessed with very costly replacement part from the MIOX Corporation (www.miox.com). Thank you MIOX. These parts should insure continued clean drinking water to many Honduran people (and us).
